A dream race for us at Barcelona 2022. The birds came very well in tough conditions, a north east headwind, high temperatures, the obstacle at the start – The Pyrenees and the final hurdle – the English Channel. We managed to achieve 1st National (UK) which is great but the dominant display from the team felt even better.

National positions: 1,4,6,8,9,14,16,17,23,34,35,36 665 Miles/1071KM. Having 12 in the clock we are told is an English record from Barcelona and also 8 potentially in the International prizes – another English Barcelona record.

A particular stock pigeon of ours stood out for us in this race ‘The Hermes’ he is the father to 1,6,17,36 National. He is a son of Raymund Hermes’s National winners ‘Jubilar’ 1st National Narbonne 2013 (Germany) and ‘Miss Barcelona’ 1st National Barcelona 2012 (Germany). ‘Jubilar’ is a grandson on Raymund Hermes’s ‘Barcelona 05’ 1st National Barcelona 2005 (Germany). ‘Barcelona 05’ is a grandson to Stoffel’s Golden Barcelona ‘The 270’ which was purchased by Raymund Hermes and became the cornerstone of his International marathon bloodline. The 270 Golden Barcelona features in the pedigrees of most of our pigeons, particularly – ‘Jack Jones’, ‘Wiggins’ , ‘The 792’ and ‘Nellie’.

Our 2nd arrival and 4th National is our 6 year old hen GB16D27053. Her fourth Barcelona race and for the second time she has placed 4th National. Her breeding is Inbred ‘Super Ben’ x Inbred ‘Jack Jones’. You can view her pedigree on her profile using the link on her ring number.
